Ok, Familly - this is how mtr looks:

It shows the average, best and worst pings for the nodes to the server, in over 600 runs. This way it's easy to see where the fault lies.

... i installed package "mrt" on ubuntu (jaunty : http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/mrt ) , but it doesn't seem to provide an "mrt" command. There is only an "mrtd" daemon (and maybe other commands, but not starting with "mrt"). And i did try as root.
