Commands for "registered" and "regular" players

Postby AngryNanny » Sat 22. Aug 2009, 12:25

Since we installed B3 on our servers, registered and regular players will have access to some commands.
All of the following commands can be simply typed with "say" function. ("say_team" function doesn't work.)

Note: "Regular" players are hand picked by our admin team.

This means, that you will not become a "regular player" when
    – "fairness" is a foreign word for you
    – you don't care about using Auto-Join
    – you like to desert your team (especially switching to the leading team)
    – you are a troublemaker
    – you are moaning a lot, complaining about everything
    – you tend to collect a lot of warnings (of any kind)
You can check your status with the following command:

  • !regtest
    Display your current user status

If you are an unregistered, unknown player yet, you can use the following commands:

  • !help
    Display help

  • !rules
Display the server rules for all players

  • !register
Become a registered player (which is not the same as a "regular player")

Since you are a "registered player", you can use the following commands also:

  • !maps
Display the server map list rotation

  • !nextmap
Display the next map in rotation

In case, you are a "regular player" already, you can use the following commands also:

  • !teams
Force team balancing. The player with the least time in a team will be switched

  • !admins
    Display all admins on server

  • !alert <text>
    Alert an admin.
Examples: !alert xxx is cheating, !alert xxx is teamkilling

  • !seen <name>
Display when <name> was last seen on the server

Be fair – have fun!

Update

Improved behavior for balancing with !teams command. It is now more balanced, as it takes the score into accounts. For example, if you have:
Red: 10 players, 6 flags
Blue: 9 players, 2 flags
In this case, B3 will now switch 1 red to the blue team. The old B3 behaviour was to consider it was "balanced" since it didn't look at the score.

Update

Added the !alert command for regular players only. It will contact every available admin tell them you are suspecting to be cheating.
The usage is simply:
!alert <text>

Just question. What is the difference betwin !admin and !alert ? Because if we see a cheater in server with admin we can talk with admin on server ? Or !alert send mail for admin not on server ?

The !alert command will send an instant message to all the admins (not those on the server, but ALL and it's not an Urban Terror program. Its like google chat ) and one should join soon to see what the problem is.
So use !alert when a player is cheating and no admin is on-line and you want someone to come.

First you should use !admins to see if there is an admin online.
If any admin is on server: tell him who you suspect of cheating.
If there is NO admin on server: type !alert to inform an admin (who hopefully gets the message).

!alert command is something like dialing 911 or calling the National Guard. :P

btw: Did someone mention that there is a death penalty for abusing !alert command and wasting our time?
